Massage Therapy at
Tranquil Massage and Healing
Massage Therapy focuses on rehabilitation and relaxation combined. A positive feedback-loop with your Nervous System helps determine the depth of pressure used for optimal muscle release.
When treating this way, the distress-hormones (flight or fight of the brain and body) can be reduced and the relaxation-hormones (rest and digest part of the brain and body) can be activated.
The body is capable of healing itself. It is during this time and state of relaxation, that I assist in its healing capabilities.

What to Expect During your Treatment
It’s all about Comfort!
Comfort In the Senses!
Tactile: Temperature warm or cold, position of pillows and headrest, I use a very lovely lotion, that is water-permissible for a smooth glide and easy clean. It nourishes the skin and body without leaving you oily or sticky.
Auditory: Sound and Volume of music.
Smell: Aromatherapy is also used for a more integrative experience. The main essential oils used are french lavender, sweet orange and peppermint.
Communication with comfort and depth of pressure is important for effective results during your treatment.
Pressure can be determined through a 1-10 scale. The pressure used during the of massage is dependant on the positive feedback-loop response of your muscles to touch, and your nervous system. Please notify me if you find the pressure to be a 7/10 or more on your tenderness scale.
Diaphragmatic breathing is recommended during treatments, this activates the relaxation part of your nervous system. I will ask you to take a few deep breathes to allow your diaphragm to expand and relax to prepare the body for the session. You’re encouraged to focus on your breathing. Thoughts may wander in your mind, you may acknowledge them and then like the clouds in the sky, let them drift away and return your attention back to your breathing throughout your treatment.
Gravity assists us a lot during your treatment. Sometimes, our muscles can have subconscious holding patterns that we are unaware of. Occasionally, I may lightly tap, sway or gently shake areas that are holding to help bring awareness and relaxation. With gravity helping bring your muscles to a grounding state, I am able to release them optimally.
Once the treatment is complete:
Rest for 2-5 minutes
To come out of the session gently, begin with small movements of the body, gentle opening of the eyes and increase movements of the body. Eventually, laying on your side and sitting up. Taking the time slowly to return to the room. Once dressed, open the door slightly.
Looking forward to providing you with your unique Integrative Therapeutic Massage experience.
